The first General Meeting of the academic year took place on Thursday 28th November. It was great to see so many students attend online to hear from the Officer team and discuss and vote on a number of motions.

To read more about the work of the Officers, check out the agenda and papers which outline some of the work they have been doing so far this year.

Here are the motions discussed and voted on:

2024-25 Lapsed Policy
Stirling Students should go to COP
Positive Campus Employment
WC Signs (Toilet/Bathroom signs)
Visibility of Help Not Harm
Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty
Insurance Industry Climate Accountability
UCU Solidarity

All motions were passed and are now policy.

As well as those votes, the new External Trustees were ratified, as was the Sabbatical Officer Reports. A brief update on the Democracy Review was also given, with details of the consultation due to come soon.

If you would like to submit a motion for a future General Meeting for your fellow students to discuss, debate and vote on, you can find more information on the Union website.
