Students' Union Autumn Elections 2024

Every year, you elect over 20 Student Representatives to represent all 18,000+ students at Stirling, both within the University and beyond. In the Autumn Elections 2024, you’ll elect part-time Volunteer Officers and NUS Delegates for the 2024/25 academic year. These roles are crucial in shaping the student experience and ensuring your voice is heard at every level.

Alternative Pathways Officer

The Alternative and Pathways Volunteer Officer identifies and organises campaigns to raise awareness of the relevant issues affecting alternative pathways students and to work alongside the Vice President Education, other Education Zone students and Union staff, on projects to better represent alternative pathways students within the Students’ Union and build an engaged, active community.

The Arts Volunteer Officer is responsible for ensuring the interests of all existing and new Arts Societies, founded on a close working relationship with representatives of each.

Care Experienced Students Officer

The Care Experienced Students Volunteer Officer identifies and organises campaigns to raise awareness of the relevant issues affecting Care Experienced students and to work alongside the Vice President Education, other Education Zone students and Union staff, on projects to better represent Care Experienced students within the Students’ Union and an engaged, active community.

Engagement Officer

The Engagement Volunteer Officer works directly with relevant Sabbatical Officers to continually promote and develop the academic representative network and create a climate of active engagement through consultation with students in order to secure educational change.

The Mature Students Volunteer Officer identifies and organises campaigns to raise awareness of the relevant issues affecting mature students and to work alongside the Vice President Education, other Education Zone students and Union staff, on projects to better represent mature students within the Students’ Union and an engaged, active community.

NUS Delegate (5 places)

NUS Delegates will represent the views of Stirling Students at a national level. Every year, NUS facilitates conferences of student reps to decide which campaigns and policies NUS should take forward. The conferences also elect student members to lead this work for the coming year.

Parents and Carers Officer

The Parents and Carers Volunteer Officer identifies and organises campaigns to raise awareness of the relevant issues affecting students who are parents and/or carers and to work alongside the Vice President Education, other Education Zone students and Union staff, on projects to better represent students who have parental and/or caring responsibilities within the Students’ Union and an engaged, active community.

The Postgraduate Officer represents Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research Students at Stirling, and works alongside the Vice President Education, other Education Zone students and Union staff, on projects to better represent Postgraduate students within the Students’ Union and build an engaged, active community.

The Sports Union Communications Volunteer Officer will communicate the activities of the Sports Zone to the student body and a wider audience. They will also represent the views of the membership on sports activities and assist the Sports President in fulfilling their remit.
