► Club Profile
Stirling University Rugby Club is one of the largest sporting clubs at the university. We are currently coached by ex-Scotland international, Iain Morrison and with a total of 75 members; we comfortably field two teams a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
On a Wednesday, we have two teams that compete in the BUCS leagues with the 1st XV competing in the top league and finishing second last season.
We are also proud to say that we are the current holders of the Scottish Universities Plate after defeating Glasgow University at Murrayfield this year. Our 2nd XV also play in a competitive league and narrowly missed out on promotion this year.
On a Saturday, the 1st XV compete in the Caledonia League of Scottish Rugby, finishing fourth last season; while the 2nd XV play in a new league operated by Canterbury, involving a mixture of club teams and university teams.
The town of Stirling offers a vibrant night life and our rugby club plays a big part in that. By joining the club, you will get the chance to play a high level of entertaining and enjoyable rugby and at the same time, you will make many new friends that will help you enjoy you university experience to its utmost.
