My goals over the next year will, if I am elected, be the following: I aim to produce, promote and secure a strong and positive Black Students Organisation at Stirling University. I believe it is vital for a University of Stirlings’ stature to be fully represented through all liberation campaigns, the Black Students included. I aim to work within NUS Scotland, through the NUS Black Students Campaign, in order to spread awareness of and combat the threats of Racism, Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and Neo-Nazism. I aim to work within SUSA to stengthen the autonomy and the abilities of the liberation campaigns; securing a larger budget, making sure our arguments and opinions are heard and taken into account. I aim to broaden the span and scope of the Black Students Organisation, helping groups previously not covered under the ‘Black Students’-umbrella. I will provide equal aid to any student facing racial, religious or cultural discrimination, be that person Romani, Bosnian or Colombian. I will also support and uphold the NUS “No Platform”-policy, thus making our campuses and unions a Fascist-free zone, banning the apostles of hate from our University. I will forcefully carry the messages of the Black Students of Stirling to the national level, no Black Students at Stirling University will ever talk to a deaf ear with a Lewin as Officer. I will, most importantly, always have an open door and an available ear for any Brothers and Sisters who need help combating Racism, Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and Neo-Nazism. I am a Swedish 20 year old heterosexual man, the son of two Black parents. Before entering University I trained as a Platoon Sergeant in the Swedish 19’th (Arctic) Armoured Regiment, graduating with the NCO class of 2007. So to be quite frank with you I’ll tell you this: I am a Platoon Sergeant of the Swedish Panzer Corps Vote Lewin - #1
Now, with that in mind, this is who I am:
I’ve been a SUSA-rep for the School of Biological & Environmental Sciences for the last year and have represented SUSA at congress at both Scotland- and UK-levels. If someone asks me what I am I would simply reply “Swedish”, and if I had a fiver every time someone asked “no, really, what are you?” I would be a very rich man indeed.
I am a black man proud of my heritage
Hopefully I will soon be able to proudly call myself YOUR Black Students Officer.
