David Fletcher
#1 for President

Hi, I’m David Fletcher and I’ve been this years Student Activities Officer. I’m a 4th year Computing & Education student, and I’m running for President. During my time as Student Activities Officer I’ve been able to help set up new clubs to make sure that students at Stirling can get more than just a degree from their time here. I’ve also been working to make sure that SUSA can start issuing nationally recognised awards to make sure that anyone who volunteers, as anything from training at a sports club through to helping with the Associations welfare services.
There is so much more I want to do to make the student experience at Stirling better, and here’s a few of them:

• Build up the Ents program we have and make it a place you want to go out to

• Extend Glow to put a stage in allowing us to have a lot more live bands at reasonable prices

• Look at bringing back the Film nights which used to run in the Union

• Lobby the University to make sure 1st year halls get decent funding for social activities

• Make sure the University puts network connections in ALL residences

• Revamp the SUSA Website

• Work on getting clubs & socs a space to work, like the one the media socs already have

• Ensure that we’re getting the best value for money for our NUS Affiliation fee

• Make sure that SUSA is catering for International students, as well as home students

• Campaign on the issues that matter to you, and follow those issues through

• Continue to build on the success of the Sport For All program

• Examine if there is any alternative ways of paying the Sports Union fee

• Continue to lobby the new Holyrood Government to keep Scotland top up free

• Work with the University to implement the results of the ELIR

• Have more Executive questions, so you can find out what your Exec’s been doing

• All the new computers are great. But where are the new printers to go with them?

• Make sure the University provides adequate provision while the new library is being developed

• Give the satellite campuses the voice they deserve!

• Look at the recommendations of the ad hoc committee has about the new Constitution

If you want all of these things and more vote:
