Hey, I’m Malcolm MacIntyre! I’m not going to lie I want you to vote for me. I guess I should at least give you some reasons to vote for me so here goes… First of I love Stirling University I’m wanting to make you do so too. To begin with we have a student union that has the potential to be the best in Scotland at very least. My aim is to cater for your needs by any means necessary. I’m not a member of the SUSA council and never have been, for me I feel this is an advantage because I’m here to represent the common student. I’ve been here for 4 years and I feel I’ve made the most of my experience as a student and now I want to make sure that you the student get the most out of your experience and more. Thank you for reading this and don’t forget to vote BRUSH, TAYLOR and MACINTYRE if you want an awesome university experience! Malcolm MacIntyre
Essentially I want YOU to tell me what YOU want! I do have a good idea on how the union can be improved because I have had many a night in Glow but for too long now I feel there has been a lack of atmosphere and I’m losing the enthusiasm to keep going back. For me I feel a big part of the lack of atmosphere is the music, it’s not the Djs it’s the lack of variation of Djs it’s about time there was some competition to pull up the standards. Also the union has the potential to be very good music venue for popular but affordable acts, basically I’m not going to make the serious misjudgement of booking someone like Rachel Stevens! I want you to get to the union hit the dance floor and have a great time!!
However don’t get me wrong it’s not all about the music I want to give you reason to want to come to your union tell me what it is that’s stopping you and I’ll do my best to change it.
Not only do you get a candidate who is enthusiastic about changing your union for the better you get the whole package! My family are all successful in catering, bar and restaurant management and event management and are all more than willing to be on hand with advice and support in turning the union around for the better.
As I mention before I’m not in the SUSA council which means I’m not aboard the ‘sinking ship’ it’s about time we had some fresh faces and fresh ideas.
Finally I will not make any false promises but I will guarantee that I will do everything I can in my power to the best of my abilities to improve your union and services!
