- Win a two-year rent freeze on all university accommodation. It was won in Edinburgh. With a strong Union we can win it here.
- Ensure any future rises in rent only come with improvements in service.
- Name and shame dodgy landlords.
- Work with Stirling Council to set up an official Landlord Accreditation Scheme.
- Fight to ensure that you get your rent deposits back with a new National Deposit Scheme.
HOW:
- Campaign nationally to return to a system where students who work don’t get taxed for their earnings.
- Work with SAAS and The Student Loans Company to win bigger loans and a more flexible system allowing you to choose when you get your cash.
HOW:
- Increase the Sports Union budget by 5%, freeing up thousands for the SU. It’s budgeted, we’ll deliver it.
- Back up sports clubs in getting access to the facilities they need.
HOW:
- Ensure the ‘Enhanced RBR’ stocks the books you need with a fast retrieval service.
- Create a communications network between the Library, the Union and you.
- Get departments to recognise in grading that studying will be harder with less books, so your grades aren’t affected.
HOW:
- Win internet access for all University accommodation.
- Ensure adequate freezers, fridges and microwaves in all University Accommodation.
- Secure more printers and colour printers across the campus
