I pledge to...
Why does this matter?
• Pollution is changing our climate, and cheap oil is running out.
• Travel makes up a quarter of all UK carbon dioxide pollution.
• The effects of climate change are already being felt by the world's poorest.
• Flying is the most polluting way to get from A to B.
• Seek alternatives to international flights, and try to never fly within the UK
• Learn more about low-impact travel options
• Enjoy the journey as well as the destination.
• Rediscover the exciting outings and activities on my doorstep.
Going on holiday has become synonymous with abroad up to the point where we have started to take for granted the places that are close to us. Let's rediscover the places near us.
We live in a beautiful, vibrant and diverse country. Taking the chance to explore it properly can make a great holiday without the trouble of international travel.
Getting to know and to enjoy these places not only saves money and carbon emissions, but reconnects you with unnoticed places.
