Finance & Resources Committee

The Finance & Resources Committee acts as the Union’s financial ‘board’ and is where all the major financial and business decisions are made.

From the price of drinks in The Robbins to how much we spend on Fresher’s Week, all major expenditure but also strategy and planning goes through this body. Plus it is where all of the Union’s (including the Sports Union’s and Robbins’) budgets get approved and monitored. Finally it is also where all staffing, employment, legal, and licensing issues get brought to.

Membership:

i)       the Sabbatical Officers who:

a)  will be signatories of the Union’s Bank Account;

b) cannot be elected as Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee;

ii)                the Chief Executive or his or her nominee;

iii)              three students elected from the General Meeting;

iv)               one trustee who shall be nominated by the Trustees Board.

The following shall be invited to attend all meetings but shall have no voting rights:

i)                   a Financial Adviser appointed by the University Secretary;

ii)                others as may be invited to present information at the request of the Finance & Resources Committee;
