All students have access to the University’s computers and printers. Everyone has their own user name and password.
At the start of each year sessions are run to help students learn to use the software available through the University. All you need to do is sign up! These sessions will ensure that you know how to save work to your own home folder and can use your student e-mail. It is also worth bearing in mind that any information about your course or university messages will be sent to your student account, so check it every so often.
The printing system is easy to use, simply choose print from the program you're using, then log on to the Pharos print station and select what you want to print and click print.
At the start of each year, your printing allowance will be credited – giving you £6 worth of printing and photocopying. To top up your print credit simply go to a money loader, found outside the library, opposite the Cash Office in Cottrell or in the Crush Hall in Pathfoot.
Information Services also have a help desk in the library so if you're having problems just go and ask.
