Running for Entertainments Officer
Spiel
My name is David Stuart, I’m a second year journalism student and I’m campaigning to become your Entertainments Officer so that I can give you a say on exactly what you want and expect from your union.
There are a lot of ways to give you a voice in your union. Be it something like an online entertainments forum that everyone can access from their portal or even the construction of an informal entertainments council, where any student can come along and have a say on any events they’d like to see.
I think that to be a decent Entertainments Officer, a candidate must be creative, decisive, approachable and innovative. I believe that I am all these qualities and, if elected, would make an awesome officer.
Ideas
Just to let you know, I believe flexibility is key and the ideas here, and any ideas I would come up with if elected, are all subject to change depending on the levels of their success and popular opinion.
Some of my ideas are:
· “Homework Club” – Drinks promotions running from 4pm till later, for all of us who like a wee dram after class.
· Gaming/ Dodgeball/ Pub Games/ etc Tournaments with prizes for winners, for all of us who enjoy a bit of competition.
· Lots more sexy drinks promotions.
· Lots more music (Live and otherwise)
Just lots more for you to expect from your union.
