My Record as a student officer:
Been the University’s LGBT Officer for two years, fighting locally & nationally for equality.
Led the Union’s campaign against the discrimination in the blood donation service.
Lobbied MSPs & MPs nationally on issues such as childcare, student funding, tenancy deposits & against the ban on under-21 drinking.
Sat on SUSA Council & Welfare & Education Committee for 2 years, & the Uni’s Student Experience Committee.
WHAT I WOULD DO NEXT YEAR:
Fight for fourth years to keep guarnteed accommodation.
Refocus SUSA’s welfare around what you really want, which is academic, financial & health advice.
Launch an online booking service, so you can reserve an enquiry with me in good time, when its best for you.
Give student volunteers the extra training they need and offer professional advice, so you get the best support.
Fix the confusion around the overlap of the Uni’s, the Medical Center’s and SUSA’s support services.
Push for stronger & equal levels of residential support for the first years who don’t get into halls.
Increase SUSA’s transparency & visibility, so that you know better what we are doing for you every day.
Keep running campaigns that aren’t just leafleting in the Atrium, but interactive & focused on delivering results.
Let's keep it moving. Vote Tom Spencer, Mark Cullen & Mark Charters
